Petaluma River Park

A SHARED SPACE FOR PEOPLE, ART, AND NATURE IN BEAUTIFUL SONOMA COUNTY

A Park for Now, a Park for the Future

Today, Petaluma River Park is open daily in its raw and magical state. And our eyes are on tomorrow. Together with the community, the Petaluma River Park Foundation is on a mission to restore our riverfront habitat and transform it into a vibrant, welcoming public park that unifies our community for generations to come.

A natural refuge in the city, Petaluma River Park is a public park located on the Petaluma riverfront in the heart of downtown Petaluma, CA. It’s free and open daily from dawn to dusk.

A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

At Petaluma River Park, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and accessible outdoor place that enriches the lives of all residents and visitors to Petaluma. We know that only a park built by all can become a place for all. Read about efforts to ensure that equity is central throughout the River Park’s planning, development, and operations.

We are actively engaging community members of all ages and backgrounds in our programs and planning process.

“Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.”

Voices from our Community

This original song and video by Kayatta was created as part of the Petaluma River Park Foundation’s inclusive planning process, led by Kimzin Creative, and directed and edited by James Dallara with assistant videographer, D’Juan Brundidge.

Over the course of 7 months, Kayatta facilitated spoken word/ poetry workshops for partner organizations: Petaluma Blacks for Community Development Grapevine Youth Leadership Program, Petaluma Pride, Amor Para Todos, and the Petaluma River Park Foundation’s Community Park Designers. The data collected from these workshops helped ideate draft plans for Petaluma River Park and resulted in the creation of this original music video as a means of sharing key findings back with the community.
