The Community Park Designers are a group of 15 people who are actively collaborating in our park development process. Representing populations often at the margins of park planning and design, this co-creation approach is designed to build trust, foster strong community relationships, and help ensure that values, needs, and aspirations for the park are inclusive and equitable.
The Community Park Designers do not meet publicly, but meeting outcomes are summarized, and their input is incorporated in planning documents which will be shared with the broader public this summer.
On Jan. 27, the Community Park Designers will tour the park site with project landscape architects and the Foundation’s Board of Directors to learn about the history and features of the land, as well as potential opportunities and constraints for the future Petaluma River Park.
