Poems. Parks. Placemakers. Community Share Back

“Poems. Parks. Placemakers. Community Share Back” is a performance event co-organized by the members of Grapevine Youth Leadership and Petaluma River Park Foundation (PRPF)! This private event was created as an opportunity for family, friends, and select community members to listen to Kayatta’s culminating song and poems from her various workshops for Petaluma River Park and partner organizations and groups, such as Petaluma Blacks for Community Development, Amor Para Todos, Petaluma Pride, Petaluma-based Kimzin Creative, and Petaluma River Park Foundation’s Community Park Designers.

The “share back” for this event will include what we heard from various communities and their priorities, as well as a sharing of original works crafted during this data collection process. Some of these works include those of Grapevine youth leaders, whose participation and voice have tremendously strengthened our collective imagination for placemaking. Together, we will listen to our community’s voice through art and performance and continue toward a shared vision of park and place.
